Is your WordPress website or blog old and outdated? Are you not getting enough traffic to earn enough to buy a cup of coffee?
Your website represents your business, brand, and authority online, so if it’s not performing well, it’s time to upgrade with some simple WordPress plugins.
Here are my suggestions to increase both your search rankings and marketing tactics:
WordPress SEO by Yoast
I love, love, love this WordPress plugin!
You receive a huge amount of traffic from Google, Bing, and the other search engines through organic (natural) search results. The WordPress SEO plugin allows you the flexibility to optimized your entire website or optimize a single landing page at a time. Having a tool like WordPress SEO by Yoast increasing traffic while decreasing bounce-rate – and it’s FREE!
Broken Link Checker
I’m not sure where I originally found a link to this Broken Link plugin but it is amazing! Once installed, it checks your entire website for broken links to both internal and external pages. Simply look at your reports and decide whether you want specific links to be unlinked or edit them one-by-one. It’s easy to use and FREE!
The Gravity Forms plugin is not free but it is well-worth the small amount you have to pay. (Starting at $39/year.) This is one of the easiest ways to build professional contact or conversion forms on your WordPress website. Once your form is submitted online, you can have it do a number of things: redirect the submitter to a converting page on your website, send confirmations, create invoices (through add-ons such as Freshbooks), collect credit card information (another add-on), and more.
W3 Total Cache
If your website is slow then this is the perfect W3 Total Cache plugin for you! Website speed plays a huge factor in your SEO and search rankings. On top of that, according to Nielsen Norman Group, nearly 40% of visitors will leave a website if it takes longer than three seconds to load. Use this WordPress plugin and use it well!
Don’t have a ton of money to drop on a website developer to make your website mobile-friendly? Then you should definitely check out WPtouch. This plugin allows your website’s content to be viewed easily on any smartphone or tablet device. Remember, Google is now highlighting mobile-friendly websites when you search by mobile device. This is one area you don’t want to overlook so make sure to check out this plugin.
